Reasey has always been deeply passionate about engineering and data. This passion motivated her to push the boundaries of her problem-solving and data analysis skills through the ASEAN DSE programme. Being selected to represent Cambodia in the 2021 Regional Finals became a turning point, unexpectedly transforming her interest in technology into a well-defined career path in engineering and data-driven innovation.
The competition challenged Reasey to harness data in innovative ways, analysing regional socio-economic issues and presenting actionable solutions. This experience not only strengthened her technical foundation but also gave her a new perspective on the potential of data to drive technological advancements. “Through ASEAN DSE, I realised that data isn’t just about analysis—it’s about building systems and solutions that make an impact,” she shares.
Today, Reasey is thriving as a Full Stack and Network Engineer at a Japanese tech company, where she designs and implements end-to-end solutions for complex systems. The skills she developed during ASEAN DSE—critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication—play a pivotal role in her current role. “The competition taught me how to approach challenges methodically and collaborate across disciplines, which are crucial in tech,” she explains.
ASEAN DSE also gave Reasey the confidence to explore the intersection of data and engineering. Her ability to translate data insights into practical applications, honed during the competition, sets her apart in her field. Whether optimising networks or developing user-centric software, she credits ASEAN DSE for instilling a problem-solving mindset that goes beyond the technical aspects.
Reflecting on her journey, Reasey sees ASEAN DSE as a foundational experience that propelled her into the tech industry. “It wasn’t just about winning—it was about learning to think bigger and build smarter systems,” she says. For Reasey, ASEAN DSE bridged her passion for technology with a purposeful career, setting her on a path to make meaningful contributions in engineering and beyond.
