Participating in ADSE 2017 was undoubtedly an interesting journey. As a data science competition, I had the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge learnt in university to address current issues faced by the ASEAN community and present my findings to a panel of professionals. However, more than just a competition, ADSE brought together participants and staff from all sorts of cultures and backgrounds.

Being able to mingle and learn from each other definitely added vibrant colours to this experience and provided me a glimpse into life working with people all around the world. I am glad to see that the competition is still going strong as I believe it is a good platform for students to get their hands dirty digging into data, socializing with a diverse community, and ultimately contributing to the development of the ASEAN Community.
